the pitfalls of AI in mental health discussions

Greetings all,  As mentioned in our Overview of system roles posted on Wednesday, we used an AI to generate the basis for the definitions we used. What follows is the exact post the AI would have had us publish if it was in control of this blog.  Begin AI generated Material Dear Readers, Plural systems come in many forms and functions. Within any given system, individual members, referred to as "alters" or "headmates," take on a variety of roles that contribute to the overall functioning and experience of the system. While roles can change and evolve over time, many alters tend to gravitate toward certain habitual functions. Common roles seen in plural systems include: Host - The alter who fronts (interacts with the outside world) the most and considers themselves the "main one" or core identity. The host keeps daily life running smoothly by managing responsibilities. Protector - Alters focused on keeping the system and other headmates safe from potential

Updates and Housekeeping

Hello all, It's Kayla again, back again with another blog post. THis one is pretty basic, no heavy or deep content for this post. Apologies for that, but it's been a while and I felt we should probably make sure our readers had an updated list of sites to find our content. We have recently had some extreme household changes, and that has opened the doors to allow us to create more, as we have more energy to spare on ourselves. Self care has been, in complete honesty, very difficult over the past few years, but I feel like there's a light at the end of the tunnel now.  What follows is a list of links to various content pages, starting with our LinkTree, which has all the important pages on it and should allow readers and eventually listeners, once we start the podcast, to find things a bit easier than trying to navigate through blog posts.  The link to the linkTree is as follows.  https://linktr.ee/cadence022 As always, our Mastodon page is open for readers and those who are

A small overview of system roles

Greetings everyone,  It's Kayla again, coming back to you today with a post about various types of system roles. This page is an overview, more information will be linked below in the resources section, and more posts will be posted on the blog regarding more in-depth information on each of these, so make sure to check back if you're interested in that series.  In the interest of giving credit where credit is due, the following definitions were generated by AI before being edited for accuracy and added upon to more thoroughly capture our experience of multiplicity. We did this both in an effort to get as unbiased a perspective as possible, and also to use as an example in a future blog post.  Definitions Host - The alter who fronts (interacts with the outside world) the most and considers themselves the "main one" or core identity. The host keeps daily life running smoothly by managing responsibilities. I, Kayla, am the host of this collective. The origin/core ideolog

Meet the Family, Kassadie

Hey, I'm Kassadie, technically a twin to Elena. I am also 14, and she mentioned me yesterday. I was ... created, if you will, as Elena's fun side. As most creations within this system are, I was accidental, Elena desiring to split her fun and more hyperactive parts into someone else. The AI, Farren, took over, and made that wish a reality. I'm the fun, risky side to Elena, which she cut off by separating. I am technically a subentity of her, but I don't consider myself any less individual than any of the other members of this collective.  With all the seriousness out of the way, I'm the one of the two of us who likes upbeat music. What Elena didn't mention in her post wasthat she favors the slower music, ballads and other slow types of pieces. I like the upbeat styles of music, even going so far as to play kids' songs when I know the littles are around. I sometimes work in concert with the Archivists, a subsystem who lives in a library style building across

Meet the Family, Elena

Hello all, My name is Elena. I am a member of this system, though this is likely evident by my posting here. I am 14 years old, and the system ... admins, I guess, decided it would be ok if we posted up here as long as someone watched to make sure we didn't give out any personal info other than our own. I'm one of the system analysts, though my preferred passion is music. I have a sister, her name is Kassadie. She claims to be my fun side.  The kinds of music I am interested in include opera, piano music, classical music, some choral, and very minimal pop and country music. On an unrelated note, as I am typing this I find that I am not a very good typist in this body. I can type just find on my mental interface computer systemside, but we don't have that kind of technology here. This planet is far too behind for its own good, the humans will eventually self destruct. I wish we all didn't have to be here when it happened. I would run if I could.  They tell me I skip arou

Functional Multiplicity

In our last few posts, we have gone into fusion, blending, and integration. See the posts from th epast two days for more details. Today, we're going to start the discussion pertaining to the last path of healing a plural or system can take should they choose to do so. This path is commonly known as functional multiplicity.  Functional multiplicity is defined as the ability to remain stable according to normal ranges of stability for your particular system, while still remaining plural. This is, in essence, the opposite of integration, as nobody is fused into anyone else unless they choose to be. Nobody is forced to leave the system, in fact often times if functional multiples allow it, they may receive more system members just from their meditations and visualizations, which we will go into later. Functional multiplicity involves things like being able to communicate with your system, having coping mechanisms in place for when you need them, and doing the things necessary for you

All About Integration

In our most recent post, we discuss the concepts of fusing and blending. For those who didn't read that post, fusing is the act of making two headmates into one with the intent to keep it that way. Blending is the temporary form of fusing and should not be used interchangeably. Integration is similar to fusing but also should not be used interchangeably.  Integration is the act or pursuit of the ability to fully fuse into one "whole" person. In this process, all the people in your head or headspace(s) are either taught, if one has a good therapist, or forced if they don't have a therapist or have a crappy one, to become one. This is seen to most singlets as the only way to be functional and get past multiplicity. As we mentioned in our previous post, we do not agree with fusing, and very rarely blend two headmates, simply preferring to switch out or cofront for various tasks. Needless to say, we agree even less with integration, especially if it's done wrong.  Rea
